Most universities bring together an academic lead, a business lead and a marketing lead, then ask them to agree. I have been all three: for almost twenty years, from Italy to the Americas, I’ve founded schools, designed, managed and taught transnational degrees, and grown and marketed them. That is why I can speak each one’s language, sit between partners and make the whole thing work.
Today I advise on transnational education partnerships, develop frameworks for global learning, and write University Ecosystems, a newsletter on the future of the university.

Every principle of the University Ecosystems manifesto needs to meet practice. So between editions of the newsletter, I invite a leader who has built something close to it, and I ask them to test it against what they have seen work, and fail.
