Perdicaro is an esteemed and driven professional with over 15 years of academic and professional experience in the field of music higher education and performing arts. He has collaborated with some of the largest UK universities and organizations, including Middlesex University, Trinity College London, and the University of the West of Scotland. He has also founded innovative music academies and cultural businesses, and served as an International Academic Partnerships Consultant.

In 2023, Gianluca Perdicaro founded the Voices of the Americas Heritage Institute, the first and only U.S. organization dedicated to preserving and promoting the rich heritage of traditional singing in the Americas. By leveraging new technologies, the Voices of the Americas Heritage Institute bridges generations of artists and communities across borders, ensuring that the voices of the past continue to resonate through the voices of the future.

Entrepreneurial and Leadership Experience

 

As a higher education entrepreneur and manager, Gianluca Perdicaro founded and managed numerous companies in Europe and the United States, achieving numerous firsts.

In 2007, he co-founded the Roma Rock School, the first rock music academy in Italy. He served as CEO for six years, from 2007 to 2013. He also served as Italian Program Leader and Manager of the Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Modern Music program of Middlesex University London, one of the biggest UK universities. He entirely designed the program and brought it to Italy, the first time ever a modern music Bachelor program was offered in the country.

In 2013, as co-founder and CEO of the Roma Contemporary Music College, he established a partnership with the University of the West of Scotland, which continues to this day, serving also as Italian program leader of their Commercial Music Bachelor of Arts program for five years (2013-2018). Throughout this period, he concurrently established and oversaw UWS Music Italy, a branch affiliated with the Scottish university, bringing the UK Master of Arts in Song Writing, Music Industries, and Sound Production to Italy for the very first time.

As a partner of MAN - Music Academies Network, the biggest network of music academies in Italy, he served as International Partnerships Director. In this role, he contributed to establishing international partnerships and collaborations with some of the biggest European education institutes, such as Trinity College London and Pearson.

Always fascinated by how music can bring people of different cultures together, he served as Secretary General and then President of the JCI Junior Chamber International Roman Chapter, with a focus on music and culture, where he had his first experiences in the non-profit sector.

 

Performing and Vocal Coaching Achievements

 

Perdicaro has taught opera and modern singing techniques for over 20 years, both in Europe and in the United States. He has given master classes at prestigious institutions such as the Conservatorio di Santa Cecilia in Rome, as well as at modern music universities such as the Saint Louis College of Music, music university of Rome.

He played the role of Gringoire in the multi-award-winning musical Notre Dame de Paris, which was produced by David Zard. 2015

In 2011, he was asked by Golden Globe winner, worldwide acclaimed singer and song writer Tony Renis to be the personal vocal coach of the three astonighing young tenors of IL VOLO for their North American and European tour.

Perdicaro is a former Trinity College London examiner in classical, jazz, and pop music. He was a main backing vocalist in the Italian national TV orchestras for more than ten years, collaborating with some of the most famous Italian maestros, including Nicola Piovani, Pippo Caruso, Renato Serio, and Gianni Ferrio. He has also worked with other famous jazz and pop musicians and composers, including Derek Wilson, Mike Terrana, Stefano Di Battista. As a singer voice actor, he has sung in movies and cartoons for The Walt Disney Company and the Royal Film Company.

 

Academics & Education

To help shape the future of professional musicians, Perdicaro lectured at renowned universities and higher education academies, including the University of the West of Scotland, Rome Business School, European School of Economics, and Middlesex University. He taught courses on music industry and on how to create and manage a successful cultural start-up.

Gianluca Perdicaro holds a Master of Popular Music Performance from the University of West London, a Bachelor of Arts (Hons) in Modern Music Business from Middlesex University London, and a Jazz & Blues Singing Degree from Saint Louis College of Music.
