"I studied voice with Gianluca Perdicaro during the late 2013 and early 2014. I had two primary reasons for wanting to study with him. First, I am now over 70 years old and wanted to see if I still had a useable voice to sing. and second, I wanted to meet and work with the vocal coach who had worked with the three teen-aged singers in IL VOLO. I did some research and learned that he was an extraordinary musician and teacher/lecturer. I have never actually met him in person. We worked together via SKYPE, which made it an even more interesting adventure. I have taught voice and conducted choirs for over 40 years, but I found there was a great deal to learn from this magnificent and patient man. His understanding of the voice and all its components was very rewarding and I wished I had known him long before our studies together. I found many wonderful ideas about explaining and exploring the student voice and new language to explain to students how the voice could be used more efficiently, more healthily, and more beautifully. I never felt that he treated me any differently than any other student because of my age. He was always helpful, patient, kind, and obviously enjoyed everything about music and singing. Of his work, he is one of the most passionate and compassionate musicians I have ever met. He constantly demonstrated authority, but also humility and understanding of his student. I hope I can study with Sr. Perdicaro again, perhaps in Italy this time and in person".
